My NY Mets sketchbook. I create an entry after each Mets game or commentary on the crazy stuff going on around the team.
great tribute.I was on the heels of high school at the time and one of the most loyal mets fans in flushing NY. I still choke up when I see the footage. I just remember the days following the attack being quite, somber, and depressing. Everything was fresh and lingering. Humor, elation, and felicity were hard to come by in neighbors, friends and family.Jumping up and down in my living room with my brothers, who aren't baseball fans and scarcely watch games, summed it up for me. We all NEEDED something to cheer about. We have Mike to thank for that moment. He cemented his place in NY sports that night - I'll always be a fan.- This one just made my PC background Joe... I hope you don't mind me saving down the image!
Thanks Alex Enjoy it!
Joe, you brought it back to me as well. I was so proud to be a New Yorker and this was a great moment for all of us. Thx.

I believe this might be your best work yet!
Beautiful job Joe.....Mike P, is a class guy and so proud to be Met Lover (Theres always Next Year! :o) ) Big John Massapequa
Unforgettable moment in sports history. He absolutely crushed that ball into the second deck of the camera tower. I also remember the Mets and Braves shaking hands before the game. That was a very nice touch that put things in perspective at such a difficult time.
that was a beautiful moment...and beautiful piece of art
