The worst day in Mets History

There’s no crying in baseball... except if you’re a #Mets fan. Today is the anniversary of the original #MidnightMassacre.  On June 15, 1977, the Mets sent Tom Seaver to the Cincinnati Reds for Pat Zachry, Doug Flynn, Steve Henderson and Dan Norman. Zachry, Flynn and Henderson were around for several years, none of them filled the void left by Seaver. -

One of the best to ever put on a Mets uni. #31 Mike Piazza.

We are the Champions.... of 1969!

My Mets Journal. Finally got to recap game 5 of the 1969 World Series. Miracles do happen. I always loved the grace that Cleon Jones brought that moment with this catch. #lgm #mets #worldseries #cleonjones #mlb #nytimessports #sportspage #sketchbook @nytimes @mets @mlbcut4 @baseballhall @theathletichq

Game 4 of the 1969 World Series was on @snytv last night. #Mets won 3rd in a row. One more and Mets win their first Championship. I try to cover these as if I didn’t know the outcome before hand. So while game 4 had that great catch by Ron Swoboda and a great comeback game for Seaver , I thought why doesn’t anyone mention the JC Martin bunt. it is. #LGM #webelieveinmiracles #amazin #seaver#ronswoboda #thecatch #thebunt #sketchbook #art #mymetsjournal  #worldseries #mlb #nationalcartoonistssociety

1969 World Series Game 2

Happy Birthday Willie Mays!

Say Hey! Happy 89th Birthday to Willie Mays. The Greatest centerfielder to every play the game of baseball. On  Sept. 29, 1954, Willie Mays, running at top speed with his back to the plate, gets under a 450-foot blast off the bat of Cleveland Indians first baseman Vic Wertz to pull the ball down in front of the bleachers wall in the eighth inning  of game 1 of the World Series. This was Willie’s famous #Basketcatch He made many of these during his career , and according to him, only missed 2. #HappyBirthday #williemays #nygiants #sfgiants #mets #sayhey #halloffame #centerfield @mets @sfgiants @baseballhall @sportsartmuseum @nytimes @snytv @mlbcut4 @mlb

They got his number 1969 WS game 1

Since the only #Mets game on @SNYTV  was Game 1 of the 1969 World Series between the  #Mets and Orioles- I thought I’d stay in training and do what I do. This one makes me sad. Tom had a bad game. But I’m sure he’ll pitch better his next start.

My Morning Paper

Sone may enjoy the NY Times crossword puzzle, but I love the Times Sports page. Here’s my newest drawing on a throwback article about one of Tom Seaver’s greatest games.

Here's a new feature I'm going to be doing. Based on a true story. 😏

It was supposed to be a special season for us. New manager. Jake going after his 3rd Cy Young.
Polar Bear Pete returning to crush last season's record breaking rookie records. Jeff McNeil's bat ...
I could go on and on...

Instead of drawing game recaps , I decided to just keep filling in with something to keep us Mets fans entertained.

Here are a few so far this season.
