My NY Mets sketchbook. I create an entry after each Mets game or commentary on the crazy stuff going on around the team.
Hey Joe...you can add Buenos Aires, Argentina to your list. Congratulations! Great stuff...Let's Go Met's!
Just read the article in france. Love your work and love the mets (and the jets and the knicks)! You have a new follower. Keep up the great work!!
Joe! This is amazing...especially for me here in Paris, a far subway ride to the stadium. A long time ago, Dwight Gooden was my neighbor and Lenny Dyskstra would stomp across my yard... (Port Washington)... Great to see your excellent work. I'd love to send you some of my baseball stamps...for an artist like yourself, I think you'd enjoy them. Here's what they look like (from my London online gallery): http://www.keepcalmgallery.com/artists/matthew_rose/mrrubens-rubens_rounding_third.htmSend me your address and I'll put some in the mail to you... MR
Hi Joe, I'm really glad the Times covered your work in the paper today. Your work is just terrific! This is exactly what a blog should be. I am a fellow artist and writer and a fan of that other NY team. I will spread the word about your work.
Awesome. The Times sent me here, and I'm grateful. Great work.
Wow, first the WSJ and now NYT...hittin' the big time! LETS GO METS!!!
Joe,Great work here. I hope to see a lot more color than black and white for the rest of the season!
Found out about your blog through the NYT article online (I live in Florida). Great way to start my morning. Had to share it with my friends on Facebook -- great work! Thank you!
Love this blog. If I can't see a game I can get a great run down of it w/ some fantastic art as well.Shared it on FB as well.
The angst, the camaraderie, the colorful characters, etc....All enough to make this Yankees fan a little jealous!Great blog, hope you don't mind me stopping by, as the Yanks have no one like you, Joe!
Just found you through the NY Times article. Great stuff, from a fellow Mets fan and ad guy (MRM Worldwide)
You rule!!!The NY Times just discovered what all of us knew already...
Hey this blog is great I just read the article in the Times. I am an illustrator and a METS fan check out my site when you can www.nathanielgold.com
kudos to your blog and your commitment to the Mets! It's lifelong fans like you that make the sport meaningful.- from a lifelong fan of a certain NL team located two hours away from NYC.
Joe: If not done already, add SAN FRANCISO to your city fanbase-- I'm HUGE Mets fan and your site, sent to me by my father (who for the life of him can't figure out how his 2 sons became Mets fans, as he is a Yanks diehard). The Mest are in town next week, and I'll be wearing the blue and orange with a Mr. Met cap! LETS GO METS!
Found you in the Times and I'm so glad. You can count two fans in Portland, OR! Love the colour ones and hope to see more!
Saw the article in the times. Great great stuff. I do a basketball comic myself and I'll be coming back here just to check out your great art. Thanks.
Great NYT article- there are a few of us rebel NL fans here in Vermont (where 49.5% of the fans are for the Red Sox and 49.5% are for the Yankees)
Joe,When I stumbled upon this blog via the NY Times article I said to myself, "Oh my god the spirit of Bill Gallo lives on!" As I read through each and every post this year I felt myself being transported back to that feeling of "Magic" that first made me a fan of the NY Metropolitans. "Ya gotta believe!" A wise man once said. You have drawn me back into the fold -so to speak- of Mets fandom. Thanks. P.S. I can't believe you designed the '86 uniforms! Sean Milano (I'm old school -still sign my personal letters) Peace.
