R.I.P Frank Cashen

I had the pleasure of working with Frank during my time in the early 80's, while creating the NY Mets advertising. He was always a true gentleman and always had a smile
and a few personal minutes to share. He will be missed. As far as Mets GM's go, he is still the best.
Rest in peace Frank.

Good Hair day...Bad Offense!

This offense is either good or bad. It has to be frustrating for this pitching staff.
They are one of the best in the majors with one of the worst offenses behind them.
I really don't care if Harrison was in or out of the base paths...It shouldn't come down to that.
We need to rely on our players not umpires.

POOF!!!

Just like that...that "feel good" feeling we had goes away.
Even though Wheeler pitched his worst game ever after pitching his best game ever,
the Mets did not give up.
Chris Young hit a 2 Run shot. His 3rd HR in 2 nights.
Think he wants to stay?
And Duda had a 3 Run pop.
That was basically our offense.

A-mazin!

Mets just hammered Scott Kazmir! Granderson is on fire! Chris Young hit 2 Home runs. Maybe he does really care if he gets cut. Keep it up Chris.
Wright still looks like he's coming around. Travis d'Arnaud smashes one in his 2nd plate appearance since coming back to the Show!
Explosive Offensive + Stellar Pitching = SUCCESS!!!!

X-ZACK-LY WHAT WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!

ZACK WHEELER PITCHES A GEM!
Faces one batter over the minimum,28!
Imagine this with Harvey and RUNS!
Let's be happy for Zack. But don't forget that our offense
scored only one run.

COLON. The Little Engine that COULD!

Colon barreled through the Cardinals, for 8 innings, like a freight train.
Off the mound and at the plate!

HELLLLLP!

It goes on and on. Every game a new way to lose.
This team needs a shake up!

Tribute to Tony Gwynn.

Your real power was in your heart.
Rest in peace.

Now What?

Terry, "The Man with the plan". He keeps tinkering. We keep losing.
It would help if people, David Wright, would just start hitting.
He's not all to blame, tonite deGrom was off his game.
It has to be tough pitching on a team that can't score more than one or two runs.

A Win is a Win!

The only good thing about this win is that Granderson seemed to enjoy batting leadoff.
The bullpen kept up their end of the bargain too.
My concern is David Wright.
If he doesn't come around Granderson will actually be passing him by.
Hopefully they'll both meet on the way up and not meet as Wright is on the way down.

My gift to you all on Father's Day.

This is the original drawing for my Racing Stripe uniform I designed for the Mets back in 82. Happy Father's Day. LGM!

Did I hear you right Terry?

C'mon Terry! You've exhausted everything you "EVER HEARD"?
Not even Jerry Manuel gave up.  NEXT!!!!

Let some men handle this...

They may be over 40, but they know how to get it done!
Colon and Abreu come up big!

deGrom Hung out to dry again!

Well they did it to him again! They're treating deGrom as well as
they treated Harvey last season. NO RUN SUPPORT!
This kid deserves a win. He's kept them in every game he's pitched.
Even though this might have been his worst start, he did pitch
good enough to win. (if your team could score more than 3 runs)

METS TEA IT UP!

Taylor Teagarden didn't know that he wasn't supposed to get a hit with bases loaded.
So, He not only got a hit...He hit a Grand Salami!
Rest up d'Arnaud!

Mets are just Tired!

Terry says that they are just tired from all of those extra innings.
Well, we're tired too. Tired of watching our team lose games like this. Games that we could have won.
Games that we should have won.
So, sleep my little Metsies. And when you're done......WAKE UP!

Mets suffer from deadly RISP

Those damn Runners In Scoring Position!
Deadly!
Mets RISP: 1-9 (M den Dekker 0-2, C Granderson 1-1, D Murphy 0-1,
C Young 0-1, W Flores 0-2, T d'Arnaud 0-1, L Duda 0-1)

Winning is Catching On!

With Lagares out for a while, Matt den Dekker is ready to step up.
And last night , he stepped up, up and away to make an amazing catch on a
ball hit by Howard that probably would have changed the whole game.
den Dekker is no Chris Young. Aren't we lucky?

Extra! Extra! Extra!

Who knows what the old hitting coach was telling them, but since he's gone
the Mets have been getting 4+ runs a game.
Niese pitched well enough to win.But not with an offense that needs a few extra innings to recharge itself.  now, if we could only do this in 9 innings it would be Amazin'!
