My NY Mets sketchbook. I create an entry after each Mets game or commentary on the crazy stuff going on around the team.
The value of trading Beltran is rising every day- look for both financial and pitching prospect relief to head the Mets way soon!
Agree. pitching pitching pitching! I hope Alderson won't get infatuated with some position player we can win with the ones we have!
I agree. He's done his job here. He got his value back up enough to now get us something in return. Pitching! But Jose must stay!
Considering the year Beltran is having (and I may be in the minority here), I'm not so sure the Mets should trade him. When people were telling us he was finished a year or two ago, I never though that, and I don't think that now. Why not take the risk of keeping him? The way he's playing and the way he worked to get back, I think he's got two good years left in him. And with Wright coming back, maybe Davis in a few weeks, and possibly Santana for the stretch, this could be a playoff team. Conventional wisdom ain't always right. Of course I could be wrong and not thinking about it clearly at this moment... LOL!!
Davis said last night that if things don't improve, he'll have to have surgery. Not what I wanted to hear!Joe, the pictures of Jose & Beltran are just fantastic. You really captured both of them - especially Reyes.
Rob that's the business. Gotta sell high. He might have 2 more good years or he might have another season ending injury. Who knows. The only thing that's certain is that he has value now.
